It's interesting to note, if you watched the _full_ documentary, it shows Jenri acting up before bedtime and his mother, even the old lady that was there too, were beginning to lose their patience with him. We then jump to the scene where it shows Jenri crying and saying those things. If anyone has a brain in their skull, it's obvious that Jenri's mother disciplined him (aka whooped his ass) and he pitched a fit over it. I've seen and heard countless kids cry like that and say things like that to their parents after being disciplined (got their asses beat). This isn't PTSD. This a _child_ who got his ass handed to him when he didn't listen to his _mother._

notice how the child speaking to his mom in 15:35 used "usted" to refer to his mother. usted is a formal word for "you", usually used to address older people, strangers, and teachers/professors. although i myself am not from latin america, i will assume (???) that a child would refer to their mother with "tu", a much more friendly, informal word of "you." and if im correct, thats even more heartbreaking.

  20. BenJamin Croft

    BenJamin Croft27 kun oldin

If you actually watched the full documentary, that this show used, its clearly obvious that the footage leading up to Jenri crying and saying those things was edited. It shows him acting up and not listening to his mother to go to bed. It shows his mom and even the old lady that was there too losing their patience with him. We then just jump to the scene when was crying and saying those things. Obviously his mother disciplined him (aka whooped his ass) and now he's pitching a fit over it. Typical child behavior after getting his ass handed to him for not listening to his mother.

I typically like John but, he was putting up too much propaganda in this one in my opinion. Some one from England that would love to see all Of Mexico in the USA because he knows how they would vote and it would not negatively effect his job or job prospects or his children’s education. He also just acted snobby instead of giving other alternatives. That kid crying because he was torn from his mom is not believable to me, it’s possible but obviously being filmed and I would be a lot more loving to my children. Kids get grumpy. Also, I would never try to sneak my kids into Mexico or Canada, if I did try to sneak into the Mexican boarder and I got caught how could I expect or want my kid to be with me while In an adult jail In the men’s jail. My kids happen to be girls. Should Mexico authorize me to go free and my girls go and do what I want in their country? I would like that but that would have consequences and so would their be consequences for the USA if we let people go from any country. If you put your kids in home school a Marshall comes out to check your kid. What does the limey Brit want? Take his family back to the UK?

  30. BenJamin Croft

    BenJamin CroftOy oldin

@Astro Wolvez I highly doubt that kid was traumatized and having trouble sleeping from being separated from his mother. He was likely traumatized from his mother whooping his ass because he wasn't listening to her, and having trouble sleeping because he was excited about flying on a plane the next day to see his father. It's interesting note that he was acting up and not listening to his mother. Then we all of a sudden cut to him crying and saying those things. If you ask me, they cut the part out of his mother disciplining him (aka whooping his ass) and then he pitched a fit over it.

  34. BenJamin Croft

That's because due to the fact that the courts still can't determine their familial relationship, couldn't determin if the child/children may be at risk with the parent or legal guardian, the parent or legal guardian is referred for criminal prosecution, there was reason to suspect the purported parent or legal guardian of human trafficking or smuggling or trafficked by unrelated adults posing as a “family” in an effort to avoid detention, the alleged parent or legal guardian poses a safety risk to the child (e.g. suspected child abuse), the alleged parent or legal guardian has already been deported, the alleged parent or legal guardian waived unification, ect, ect, ect.

@Astro Wolvez That kid was crying and saying those things because his mother obviously disciplined him (fyi whooped his ass) and now he's pitching a fit over it. Why did the video all of a sudden jump from him acting up before bedtime, to him balling his eyes out? What a curious, interesting and troubling phenomenon. Where's the unedited footage? It reminds of that time when that gun control documentary came out, "Under the Gun". It gathered a group of gun advocates together and when they were asked a question, the video was edited in such a way that it showed a full 30 seconds of an awkward silence, to insinuate a "GOTCHA" moment and to make gun advocates appear to be stupid. In reality they immediately responded to the question with good, credible, rational answers. But that was only after gun advocates boycotted the hell out of the studio who sponsored the making of that so called "documentary" and then the unedited footage reluctantly came out.

Please Do A Piece on Michael Jackson Hi, I’m writing to you because Last Week Tonight as opposed to other such shows actually cares about issues rather than chasing the headlines. It has been 11 years since Michael Jackson passed away yet to this day what the common consensus is that he is a taboo subject for many. I recall you guys once did a piece on Public Shaming. Michael Jackson was a genius, an abused child. He was strange. He was one of the few major stars from the 80s who came out of the 80s without a heroine addiction. He in his own way did many, Many strange things, but so do most other superstars. And more than others he actually cared. About children, about the earth. About the issues we are discussing to this day. While Icons like Freddy Mercury, Elvis Pressley, Prince, Beetles and many more are known for their good works, Michael is known for the something which he has repeatedly been acquitted for. It’s the truth that anyone looking for will find instantly but due to the “where there is smoke there is a fire” narrative, even 11 years after his death, the new media treats him like a criminal. All his trial pages are open for the public to read. He WAS weird. Making a ranch called neverland, hanging out with children. Trusting people he shouldn’t. But I urge you please cover him, hear beyond the noise like you guys often do. The most successful African American Artist of all time was a humble man child, who respected women, loved children and cared about our environment. He was not a heroine junkie, a private man who did not share his disease even all the way back in 1993 even though he was accused of wanting to become a “White Man”. He was eccentric. Hanging out with animals and caring about them. theobjectivestandard.com/2020/02/justice-for-michael-jackson/ This article covers multiple sources, some of which I had read previously. Michael Jackson was a multi talented millionaire pop star, who was not an alcoholic, was a caring father, a filial son, Treated women with respect, cared about the planet and it’s beings. The press that constantly kept DASHING him, had found a way to subvert their guilt. All those years of calling him a “Jacko”, “monkey” and many more hurtful things was justified if he was a paedophile. They NEEDED him to be guilty. Such a man cannot exist in Hollywood. Such public shaming had allowed and to this day allows Michael to be a victim to all this slander. Please do a piece, if not one that exonerates him then one that once and for all cements the fact the Michael Jackson, the greatest pop star, the first African American Idol was a paedophile. Not through unknown sources or flimsy headlines but through concrete proof. A news echoing in a closed chamber will not reach anyone, most fans who what to know the truth know it, other people will read the headlines but not the explanations. It’s about time the general public knows. Please do a piece on Michael, the blatant mistreatment by the media, The systematic racism he faced during his trials. Please don’t let the first African American Singer be remembered for the things he did not do, He was weird, weird enough to annoy Freddy Mercury with Bubbles feedbacks, weird enough to let kids crack raw eggs over Michael Jackson, Weird enough to play water balloons with children. But he was not a paedophile and the world needs to acknowledge that. He was in no way a “Perfect Human” but he tried his best to live right and we should not punish him for doing that. On this year please exonerate this Black man, the Justice System has done it two decades ago, it’s about time everyone else does. Please do a piece on Michael Jackson.

Young strong men coming to our country....women don't want that.... Also Sidney Sheldon and Danielle Steel sold like no books. Women are really into Stephen King and Tom Clancy. Women don't want to read the books of Sidney Sheldon and Danielle Steel, and neither do men, but women really don't want to. Their sales are low! Note: The description John Oliver gave right away made me think of old fashioned paperback romance novels in the drug store around the corner from where I grew up. I even thought he might go with that angle, but I was surprised he didn't. It's racist yes, but it also excuses the fact novels written about this have sold hundreds of millions of copies mostly to women. That's not sexist. That's a fact. And these aren't horror or thrillers novels. They are romance novels so women aren't scared or hateful of this? Also, I know many women enjoy Stephen King and Tom Clancy but I just wanted to use that to make my point.

Vote for Joe Biden-Harris this November, or else this horrific separation between children and their parents will keep happening. Interesting how this subject has mostly completely disappeared. We should absolutely handle issues like this, but the media needs to stop letting Trump build his bonfires out of them. Hopefully in a few months, we can kick him to the curb and throw his open suitcases into the streets, and shove his wall and immigration policies up his backside. How did immigration become such an issue, anyway? Because Trump brought it up as a subject along with his border wall?

Careful listening to Stephen2462. He likes to gloss over the facts. Here are the actual facts... The Obama Administration _unilaterally_ separated over 90,000 children via his clandestine intimidation tactic against illegal aliens with children. If you illegally cross the border with children, the children will be locked up along with you. That was Obama's immigration policy. Naturally we saw a high influx of just children illegally crossing the border by themselves after that. What a curious, interesting and troubling phenomenon. This is also the time when Obama implemented his catch and release and DACA programs too. Which all of a sudden quickly removed them from these hastily constructed cages. Curiouser and curiouser. Anyway, as anticipated the ACLU and other civil rights parties sued the administration and won. The courts then decided and ruled that you can not lock up children with adults. Wait what? You can't lock children up with adults? No wonder why the ACLU won. Didn't hear any leftwing, SJW, liberal, Democrats losing their minds over this back then. Did you? To this day we still don't know the official number of how many children were separated under Obama. The Democrats are keeping that little tidbit under wraps. I wonder why? Fast forward to Trump. Trump then doubles down on this court order, left over from the Democrats, with his zero tolerance policy. Now all of a sudden leftwing, SJW, liberals and Democrats lose their minds over it. Oh the hypocrisy. And due to this hypocritical public backlash Trump signed an executive order to stop it. Now here comes the ACLU, yet again, suing the Trump Administration. This time to reunite the separated "families" that were effected by his zero tolerance policy. During it's effect the Trump administration separated an estimated 4,368 children. So far less than half of them (2,184) were deemed eligible by the courts to be reunited. As for the rest, so far, the courts couldn't determine their familial relationship, couldn't determin if the child/children may be at risk with the parent or legal guardian, the parent or legal guardian is referred for criminal prosecution, there was reason to suspect the purported parent or legal guardian of human trafficking or smuggling or trafficked by unrelated adults posing as a “family” in an effort to avoid detention, the alleged parent or legal guardian poses a safety risk to the child (e.g. suspected child abuse), the alleged parent or legal guardian has already been deported, the alleged parent or legal guardian waived unification, ect, ect,. So let's do a recap here. At least 90,000 children were indirectly separated from their actual parents by a unilateral Obama Administration intimidation policy. While the Trump Administration's zero tolerance policy separated 2,184 children from their actual parents. At least 90,000 vs 2,184.

  142. Stephen2462

    Stephen24625 oy oldin

It's technically true, but there's critical context your friend either didn't know or deliberately left out. There was a period during the obama administration in which there was a sudden influx of unaccompanied minors, and the Obama administration had to use hastily constructed temporary facilities to hold them until they could figure out what to do with them; kids were only held there for three days or so. The Trump administration, in contrast, made these facilities permanent and expanded them to accommodate the Trump administration's family separation policy. So yes, Obama did build the cages, but they had a very different purpose, and can't really be compared to the sick shit the Trump administration has done.
